Developments towards a more efficient Powder Packing in Powder Based Additive Manufacturing
The Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) is a senior scientific and technical Federal Institute with responsibility to the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi).
Jens Günster is also a professor of Advanced Ceramics at the Clausthal University of Technology, Institute of Non-Metallic Materials, Clausthal Zellerfeld, Germany and head of the division of “Ceramics Processing and Biomaterials” at the BAM, Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing, Berlin, Germany. He graduated from the Clausthal University of Technology with a degree in physics in 1995. He received a Humboldt Fellowship to visit the National Institute for Inorganic Materials (NIRIM) in Tsukuba, Japan, from 1996 to 1997, did a Postdoc at the Texas A&M University from 1997 to 1998, followed by an assistant professor ship at the Clausthal University of Technology from 1998 to 2007. From 2002 to 2008 he was visiting member of the International Center of Young Scientist at NIMS, Tsukuba, Japan. 2002 he received the “venia legendi” for Material Physics (Habilitation) from Clausthal University of Technology. From 2008 to 2010 he worked for Oerlikon Solar in Trübbach, Switzerland as a group leader for laser technology and as a glass specialist. Since 2009 he is board member of the German Ceramic Society DKG and since 2012 Co-Editor of the Journal of Ceramic Science and Technology.
